Pain Points
Scattered information:
-
Information is scattered across systems and manual artifacts
-
High reliance on memory, notes, and manual calculations

PROBLEM STATEMENT
How might we maximise customer satisfaction and on time performance, ensuring optimal flight decisions. Optimising upon the current decision matrix improves on information accessibility and manual processes.

Mathematical Simulation
This project optimizes Scoot’s flight delay decision process by identifying key parameters and applying mathematical models to improve efficiency. It incorporates system design principles through discrete event simulation and a newly developed nested event graph algorithm.

UI/UX
Design
Based on stakeholder feedback, multiple iterations from low-fidelity to high-fidelity prototypes were developed to shape a user-centered UI/UX that emphasizes clarity, efficiency, and intuitive interaction.

-
Reduced visual complexity to achieve a clean, focused interface
-
Visual design aligned with Scoot’s branding

Simplified user interface

DEPLOYMENT
The web application is built with a Next.js frontend and a FastAPI backend, delivering full functionality as a high-fidelity prototype with real-time data updates.
Final Prototype
The dashboard is designed to be simple and clean while presenting all essential information, enabling operations officers to make informed decisions quickly and effortlessly.

The radar chart provides a quick overview of critical information across different scenarios, enabling easy comparison of outcomes.

The Decision Card allows users to share a clear summary of decision breakdowns with relevant stakeholders
Client
Validation
“There is commercial value in this. There is completely nothing in the market [like this] that helps me to decide [to delay this or that flight].”
“What you’ve proposed is something we’ve never thought of.”
